HTML does not translate well from WooCommerce to Revel. To get HTML to display in WooCommerce it would have to be in the description field in Revel, however Revel does not have a HTML output in their own description field so the text that appears in this field will look like code.
DSYNC has two solutions to this:
- The client can opt to not have the description field synchronised, so that only basic product data such as title, price, sale price, weight, etc is pushed through. The client can then add HTML descriptions to WooCommerce once the product is pushed through
- Descriptions can be synced, but they will have to be plain text so that they work well with both systems
We currently do not have a function to replace multiple string items, which means we wouldn't be able to map multiple categories and would only be able to use the main one in WooCommerce.
Are SKUS important with Revel integration? Yes absolutely please see our Revel FAQs on SKUS
Can we SYNC images? Please see our Woocommerce and Revel image sync.
Updating or creating a product in Revel will create a request that is sent to WooCommerce. Every request would upload an image causing a product image on the server for each request - this is due to a function in WooCommerce, and could result in the website's disk space being used to capacity, resulting in the website being flooded with duplicate images. To avoid this issue, DSYNC does not include image updates in the Revel to WooCommerce synchronization.Images are uploaded manually onto WooCommerce by the user after synchronization is complete and all other information is updated.
